Overview
SLESS ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.
SLESS is designed with a privacy-first, local-first architecture. Your financial data stays on your device and is only synced through Apple's secure CloudKit infrastructure when you choose to enable sync.
Data We Collect
Data Stored Locally
- Expense entries (amounts, merchants, categories, dates)
- Budget configurations
- Category preferences
- App settings and preferences
Data Processed by AI
When you use the AI parsing feature, your expense description text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. This data is used solely to parse your expense and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the processing request.
CloudKit Sync (Optional)
If you enable Sign in with Apple and CloudKit sync, your expense data is encrypted and synced through Apple's secure infrastructure. We do not have access to your synced data.
Data We Don't Collect
- Bank account information or credentials
- Credit card numbers
- Personal identification documents
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers
Third-Party Services
Anthropic (Claude AI)
We use Anthropic's Claude API for natural language expense parsing. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for their data handling practices.
Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports to improve app stability. This data does not include personal information.
Exchange Rate API
For multi-currency support, we fetch exchange rates from exchangerate-api.io. No personal data is sent with these requests.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Delete all your data by uninstalling the app
- Disable CloudKit sync at any time
- Request information about data we process
